On Pricing

Labor + gear, separated.

Network setup pricing varies more than other services because the scope varies more: a single-router setup is a different job than a mesh-with-ethernet-backhaul for a 3,000 sqft house, and a 25-person office is different again.

Every repair is quoted after inspection, before any work starts. We quote labor and gear separately, so you can see exactly what you’re paying for. You can buy your own gear (we’ll recommend specific models) or have us source it for you. Either way, we right-size the recommendation to your space, no pushing enterprise gear on a 2-bedroom apartment.

For small-office setups, we provide a written quote after the site survey. For home setups, we usually scope it on the call.

Do you come to my house?
On-site work (site surveys, mesh installs, and office setups): Available. Call (916) 627-1818 for details. For diagnostics on a single laptop or device, drop it at our Elk Grove shop.
Do you run ethernet cable through walls?
No. In-wall cable runs, attic work, and wall finishing are licensed low-voltage contractor territory, and that’s not licensing we carry. What we do: design the network, recommend a licensed low-voltage contractor for the physical runs, then set up and configure all the equipment (switches, access points, patch panels) once the cable is in place.
What does a typical home WiFi setup cost?
Every repair is quoted after inspection, before any work starts. Labor and gear are quoted separately once we understand your space and existing gear.
My internet is slow. Is it the router or the ISP?
That’s exactly what we figure out. We test wired speeds (router-to-computer with ethernet) vs wireless speeds vs internet speeds. The bottleneck shows up in the data.
Will mesh fix my dead zones?
Often yes, especially in houses with thick walls or sprawling layouts. Mesh works best when the satellite nodes have a strong signal back to the main node, or even better, ethernet backhaul. We measure and recommend.
Can you set up guest WiFi for my business?
Yes, guest network separated from your business network, with bandwidth limits if you want them, and proper isolation so guests can’t see business devices.
What router should I buy?
Depends on your space, devices, and budget. For most Sacramento-area homes, a quality WiFi 6 mesh system covers it. For apartments, a single router is usually enough. We give specific recommendations after understanding your situation.
Can you set up smart home devices?
The network side, yes, making sure smart devices are reliable on your network and properly segmented. We’re not full smart-home installers, but we make sure the network handles your IoT setup.
Do you do printer network setup?
Yes, getting printers reliably on the network is a common follow-up service. We set up printers across multiple computers so you don’t have to "add printer" on every device.
Is my network secure?
Most home networks aren’t as secure as they should be (default passwords, no guest separation, outdated firmware). We can audit your network and lock it down properly.
